Me:

Hello! I'm Heather, owner and photographer at Life Inspired Photography!! I've been behind a camera for as long as I can remember. My family members are often shocked if I show up without a camera in hand. I have my masters degree in counseling and spent many years as both a mental health therapist and photographer and more recently decided it was time to focus on just one career path.  Photography won, because I can't imagine not capturing life's beauty and challenges in images.  Therapy and photography may seem like completely different career paths for most, but they do not seem that far apart to me, they both are about honoring, noticing and truly living life and every moment. As far as photography training, I've been "traditionally" trained in film and the darkroom while working on my bachelors many years ago and have continued to learn on my own and in photography workshops by some of who I consider the industries best! As far as a photography speciality, I love too many aspects of too many areas, so I don't really have one. I most frequently photograph families, babies, seniors, and couples. Though I love weddings, boudoir, and even corporate or casual headshots!

A little personal "about me", I'm the proud momma of two adorable boys (10 and 5 years old) and one sweetheart toddler girl (3) also am dog-mom to one very large, lazy Great Dane named Winston. We joke that Winston is a mini-Dane because he was estimated to be at least 150 pounds but is now full grown at only 110 pounds. My favorite non-work things are a good family bike ride, I’m currently learning to run longer distances, sampling good dark craft beers, coffee (but I’m decaf these days), traveling anywhere anytime, experimenting in the kitchen, the ever-rare solo date with my husband, and getting to spend quality time with family and friends.
